Push Notifications

Stay informed with push notifications for new messages, task reminders, and assignments. Configure which alerts you receive and when.

Enabling Notifications

When you first install the app, you'll be prompted to allow notifications. If you declined initially:

iOS

  1. Open Settings on your iPhone
  2. Scroll down and tap SendSquared
  3. Tap Notifications
  4. Toggle Allow Notifications on

Android

  1. Open Settings on your device
  2. Tap Apps or Applications
  3. Find and tap SendSquared
  4. Tap Notifications
  5. Toggle notifications on

Notification Types

Configure which events trigger notifications:

New Messages

  • Receive alerts when new SMS, email, or WhatsApp messages arrive
  • Useful for staying responsive to guest inquiries

Assignments

  • Get notified when conversations are assigned to you
  • Know immediately when you have new work

Task Reminders

  • Receive alerts for upcoming task due dates
  • Get notified when tasks become overdue

Mentions

  • Be alerted when team members @mention you in notes or comments

In-App Notification Settings

To configure notifications within the app:

  1. Tap Profile in the bottom navigation
  2. Tap Notification Settings
  3. Toggle individual notification types on or off
  4. Configure additional options

Quiet Hours

Avoid notifications during off-hours:

  1. Go to Profile → Notification Settings
  2. Enable Quiet Hours
  3. Set your quiet hours start and end time
  4. Notifications are silenced during this period

Quiet hours affect push notifications only. Messages still arrive and are visible when you open the app.

Notification Sounds

Customize notification sounds (availability varies by device):

  • Use default SendSquared notification sound
  • Select from system sounds
  • Set different sounds for different notification types

Troubleshooting

Not Receiving Notifications

  1. Check device notification settings (see Enabling Notifications above)
  2. Verify in-app notification settings are enabled
  3. Ensure you're not in Quiet Hours
  4. Check that Do Not Disturb is off on your device
  5. Make sure the app can run in the background
  6. Try signing out and back in
  7. Uninstall and reinstall the app if issues persist

Delayed Notifications

  • Check your internet connection
  • Ensure battery optimization isn't restricting the app
  • Verify the app has background refresh permissions

Best Practices

  • Enable notifications for message types you need to respond to quickly
  • Use Quiet Hours to maintain work-life balance
  • Review notification settings periodically
  • Keep the app updated for best notification reliability
