Microphone Permissions for Call Center
If callers cannot hear you during calls in the SendSquared Call Center, the issue is likely related to microphone permissions in your browser.
Browser Requirements
SendSquared Call Center only supports Google Chrome. Other browsers are not compatible with our telephony features.

Enabling Microphone Access in Chrome
To allow SendSquared to use your microphone:
- Click the lock icon in Chrome's address bar (to the left of the URL)
- Find the "Microphone" setting in the dropdown
- Ensure it is set to "Allow"
- Important: After changing this setting, you must refresh the page as the connection will be lost
Alternative Method
If the above doesn't work:
- Go to Chrome Settings (chrome://settings/)
- Click Privacy and security → Site Settings
- Click Microphone
- Find SendSquared in the list and ensure it's set to Allow
- Refresh the SendSquared page
After Changing Permissions
Critical: You must refresh the page after updating microphone permissions. The existing call connection cannot recover from a permission change and needs to be re-established.
Why You Need to Log In Again After Refresh
When you refresh the browser, you'll need to log into the agent system again. This is normal behavior because:
- The agent login requires a real-time connection
- Refreshing the browser resets this connection
- A new login is required to re-establish the secure connection
Connection Stability Issues
If you're experiencing frequent disconnections or being logged out:
-
Check your internet connection:
- Run a speed test to verify your connection quality
- Low bandwidth or unstable WiFi can cause disconnections
-
Network type matters:
- Wired connections are more stable than WiFi
- If on WiFi, try moving to a location with better signal strength
- Consider switching to a wired connection if possible
-
Troubleshooting steps:
- Try logging in from a different location with better connectivity
- Test with a different computer to isolate machine-specific issues
- Use a different network to rule out network-specific problems
Troubleshooting Checklist
If you're still experiencing issues:
- Verify you're using Google Chrome (not Edge, Firefox, Safari, etc.)
- Check that both "Microphone" and "Sound" are set to "Allow" in site settings
- Test your microphone at https://mictests.com/
- Refresh the page after changing permissions
- Ensure no other application is using your microphone
- Try closing and reopening Chrome completely
- Check if your antivirus or security software is blocking microphone access
- Verify your internet connection is stable (especially if on WiFi)
- Try using a wired connection instead of WiFi
Common Issues
"Permission Denied" Error
This typically means Chrome doesn't have system-level access to your microphone. Check your operating system's privacy settings to ensure Chrome has microphone permissions.
Microphone Works in Other Apps but Not SendSquared
This usually indicates a browser-specific permission issue. Follow the steps above to grant SendSquared microphone access in Chrome.
Cannot See Microphone Option in Settings
Ensure you're accessing SendSquared via HTTPS (the URL should start with https://). Microphone access is only available on secure connections.
